Marrakech to Zagora – Desert Camp. Two Days
|Day 1 – Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Zagora |
We will pick you up at 7:30 in the morning from your hotel/riad in Marrakech and set off towards Ouarzazate via the famous Tizi N Tichka Pass which at 2260m is the highest pass in Morocco.
The landscape is dotted with small and traditional Berber villages and you can enjoy stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains We will visit the extraordinary Kasbah Telouet Kasbah which was started by the Glaoui family, who had risen to power in the late 1800’s, however, it was never completed.
Despite the crumbling exterior, this is a hugely impressive structure with some of the internal rooms still remarkably
We will then visit Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, UNESCO site and the inspiration for an impressive number of movies. Situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech.
The Door of the Sahara, Ouarzazate is situated in the Draa Valley, the longest river in morocco lined by many palm groves and Berber villages. We then arrive in Zagora, which we have time to visit before mounting camels to begin the trek into the sand dunes of Nokhila in time for the sunset.
Overnight in nomad tents – dinner with music.

Enjoy the spectacle of a desert dawn and breakfast before returning to Marrakech.
